New to Church?

00 Welcome Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

Some key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

One parish, four churches: see the details

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. A typical 10 or 10.30am morning service will have opening hymns, prayers and notices, and a talk from one of our leaders on the Bible passage linked to our current theme. After prayer for local and international affairs there is a voluntary collection and the service ends with hyms/praise. Sometimes there's a visiting speaker, a special or seasonal theme or a baptism. There is opportunity for private prayer or to pray with one of our prayer ministry team at the end.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service at St Peter & St Paul, St Saviour and St Philip's. All churches have plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the children at church?

We have a fantastic programme, currently based at St Philip and St Peter & St Paul, for children and young people. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme. You will need to go with your children and register them.
For more information about what happens in the children's work please see
Children's Ministry and Youth under Church Life.

How long will the service take?

A Morning Service (10 or 10.30am) typically takes just over an hour.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
