Clergy

MarkBrown   Anthony
The Rev'd Mark Brown
Vicar of the Parish

My responsibility is to oversee the work of the Parish.
I value working together with others and seeing their God given gifts released into effective areas of service and ministry. In 1999 I was made a founder member of the College of Evangelists by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.
My role as Rural Dean means we have good links with the Diocese as a Parish and our collaborative work with other clergy in the area is enhanced.

I am keen music lover and enjoy family life with my wife Allison, five children and two mad Springer spaniels!

  The Rev'd Anthony Hammill
Associate Vicar

As Associate Vicar I work across the parish with a close link to St Philip's Church.
I enjoy training and encouraging people to live out their Christian faith and teach on the diocesan course for lay ministers. Before becoming a minister I worked in the Civil Service for the Department of the Environment and HM Treasury.

I enjoy family life with my wife Judi and our son Joshua. You can often find me reading a book.

Parish Curate

I'm excited about my start in ministry, where I long to see people meet and be fulfilled by Jesus. Before ministry training I worked with children and families as a nursery nurse, seeing children grow in confidence and try new skills.

With my husband Jason and two children, we hope to settle quickly back into Kent after 2 years in Cambridgeshire, and to continue with our cycling!

  Andy Page
Youth and Children's Minister

As Youth & Children's Minister it's my job to make sure we're serving the young people in our parish in the best way possible, whether they're part of the church family or in the wider community of North Tonbridge. Having been involved in volunteer youth & children's ministry since the age of 16 I've known that this is where God was calling me to so relish the opportunity to further develop the work that St Peter & St Paul do.

I enjoy many types of music (hard rock and jazz being my favourites) and am a keen drummer. When my wife and I get the chance we like to go on day trips and are slowly visiting different parts of the world (not on day trips though!).

Leadership

Mike Seaman   Sara Thomson
Church Warden   Church Warden

As Wardens, Sara and I have several legal responsibilities concerning the Church and its premises, but our most important role is to support the clergy, staff team and volunteers who run the wide range of activities across the Parish. The learning curve is steep and the range of things we get involved in is surprisingly wide.

I am married to Heather, we have 4 adult children who live away from Tonbridge, and we are learning to adjust to a rather busy retirement..........
Mike and I support the Church in its mission to make Jesus Christ better known in Tonbridge. We also pray regularly for all involved in the life of our Church family.

I trained as a nurse and was married to Miles, a vicar, for 35 years before being widowed. I have 3 sons, and 12 grandchildren. I enjoy being involved with young families in our Church. To keep fit, I play tennis and cycle.

As Parish Treasurer it is my responsibility to ensure that the finances of the Parish are kept up to date and comply with the complicaed accountancy rules associated with a charity. My aim is to diligently get value for money in all areas of expenditure, and to encourage the faithful giving of those who donate to God's work here in the Parish and to our worldwide mission partners.

I am married to Pam, and enjoy our grandchildren and walking with our new golden retriever puppy Jed.
I work as a full-time Licenced Lay Minister (LLM) in the Parish of St Peter & St Paul, including in a leadership role at St Saviour's Church. I am also PCC Secretary.

Beyond the Parish, I am a volunteer on the chaplaincy team at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Secretary to the Tonbridge Deanery Synod and a Vocatoins Adviser for the Diocese of Rochester. When able I volunteer as a member of the chaplaincy team at Burrswood.

Judi Hammill
Ordinand

I am an Ordinand or trainee vicar, studying at St Mellitus college and on placement here in Tonbridge. Some of my job is focussed on encouraging people with young children at our baby and toddler groups: Teddies, Tots & Co, Tiny Acorns and Afternoon Church. I also lead services and preach around the Parish and work with the young people and children at St Philip.

Before starting my training, I spent four years at home looking after our son Joshua. Before that, I was the Headteacher of a primary school in Brick Lane in London.

I love chatting and enjoy getting to know different people. I am a regular customer at many of the lovely coffee shops in Tonbridge. I'm married to Anthony and we like spending time together as a family. I also enjoy reading books of many different types.

Staff Team

Yolanda Roberts   Jane Higgs
Vicar's PA and Administrator   Administrator: Parish Church

My role as a PA is to provide administrative support to our Vicar. I also assist the Treasurer by handling the day to day administration of the finances.

It is wonderful to discover what life is like in the church during the week, with many members of our congregation devoting their time and love to our community. I attend St Peter & St Paul with my husband Adrian and our two boys. A new addition to our family is Cooper, a Springer Spaniel puppy that likes chewing everything.

As a member of the lay staff team, it is a privilege to serve and contribute to the life of our Parish family, a part of which I have been since childhood. Over the years my faith has been challenged, and therefore strengthened, in a number of ways.

I enjoy home life with my husband Steve, supporting our son in his varied activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Jane Mata
Administrator: St Philip's church and Parish Communications
Jane Mata
I'm the person for St Philip's bookings and service arrangements, and for the wider Parish I deal with publicity, communications and the website.

You might find me running (slowly) or cycling in Tonbridge. With my husband Andy I enjoy music, galleries and long walks.
