New Electoral Roll
2019 is the year we have to close the current Electoral Roll and start again.
We have to complete the renewal a set period before our Annual Parochial Church Meeting (10th April).
At all services between 3rd - 13th February inclusive, we will be issuing new application forms and collecting them.
You can also get a form on this website HERE, in foyers and by contacting the Electoral Roll Officer, Jane Mata firstname.lastname@example.org 01732 352416.
Return forms to the reps in your church, or to the Parish office, or to Jane Mata via email.
WHAT IS THE ELECTORAL ROLL?
It's our register of electors - those qualified to attend, vote, and stand for election.
MUST I REJOIN?
you become a voting member of the Church of England
it ensures the various church councils are representative of its members
Yes, even if you only came onto the current electoral roll recently; we have to start from scratch every 6 years!
AM I ENTITLED TO JOIN?
If you are
a member of the Church of England and living in the parish
a member of the Church of England living outside the parish, but have been coming to us for 6 months
then yes - do ask the Electoral Roll Officer if you have questions.
I AM HOUSEBOUND BUT WANT TO JOIN/REJOIN
Please contact Jane Mata 01732 352416 to give your name and address. We will get in touch.
A privacy notice regarding the Electoral Roll is available HERE*.
WHEN DO I RETURN IT?
On-the-spot in church, ideally.
Otherwise, the statutory deadline for return of forms is 12th March, but the end of February would be appreciated!
For 14 days after the completion of the roll (26 March - 9 April) it will be displayed to members in churches for editorial corrections - but not for the addition of new applicants.
*Please note that references in the Privacy Notice to “publication” of the Roll refer to this availability for checking in churches for 14 days before the APCM. We do not share the Electoral Roll or make it available to third parties.
