youth

Here in the Parish of St Peter & St Paul we see the discipleship of our children and young people as vital to the life of our churches. We show them spiritual values through teaching and Bible stories, worship and prayer. We want our children and young people to develop into mature Christian adults, so we give them our time and energy both on Sundays and in the week.

SOS

What? Becoming mature Christian adults can be a difficult process but we want to help you do that in the best way possible, that's why we have SOS. We mix relevant Bible exploration with fun & games around thought provoking topics that, we hope, will enable you to be the best follower of Christ you can be during the whole week. As well as gathering together we offer opportunities to serve our Christian brothers and sisters during the services and at our other events.

Connect
What? Fun, food and fellowship - that's what we do at Connect, as we explore the Christian faith together through asking, seeking and knocking. If you want to discover more or just have fun and meet new people of your age then come and join us! We also meet for socials during the school breaks and do a number of varied and fun things.

Update: Because of the current government advice Connect is having a break but we hope that it will be able to return in the near future. (Sept 2020)

Refresh

What? School years 10 - 13 can be a stressful time with exams, making decisions about the future and increasing social commitments. At Refresh we want to give you space to do just that, providing you with time and space to be yourself while looking at how Christianity and the Bible can speak into your everyday experience. During the year we also have several social events to just be together while doing something fun.

For more info contact the Youth, Children & Families team and to view a term card click here (can be downloaded once opened).

When? Sundays during term time, 7:45-9pm on Zoom - for joining details contact the Youth, Children & Families team.

Grub

What? Jesus wants us to grow, and that isn't simply up or out. He wants us to mature in our faith, both individually and corporately. Because of this we have midweek Grub sessions where we share physical food and spiritual food: we eat dinner together and then have a Bible study using interactive resources such as the Nooma short-film series or Bible Project's short videos.

For more info contact the Youth, Children & Families team and to view a term card click here (can be downloaded once opened).

When? Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm in differing locations around the Parish.

Catch The Wave

What? Jesus wants His church to be united and Catch The Wave is a gathering of young people from across Tonbridge and the surrounding area to do just that. During the gathering there is time for worship, sharing of testimonies & things God is doing in our lives, prayer and fun.

Mission:Kondoa

What? As a Parish we are partnered with the Church of the Good Shepherd, the cathedral church of the Diocese of Kondoa in Tanzania, and part of that link involves groups from our Parish visiting our brothers and sisters in Kondoa. We believe that this is something all ages should be involved in and so we offer young people in school years 11-13 the opportunity of being part of this during the Summer break.

If you'd like more information or to be involved contact the Youth, Children & Families team and to see more about our mission partners click here.

When? The next trip is set to be in August 2021 but due to the current global Coronavirus outbreak we're keeping a close on what will be possible and therefore our plans may have to change. There will still be a trip and if it's not next Summer it will be Summer 2022. To get a flavour of the trip in August 2019 you can visit the Mission:Kondoa Instagram feed.
Who? Young people who will be in school years 11-13 in August 2021.
