Promoting a safer church
The Bible directs us to
‘speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable’ (Proverbs 31: 8)
The care & protection of children, young people & vulnerable adults involved in church activities is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the church family.
To help promote a safer church environment and culture, the PCC appoints a PSO to take special responsibility for safeguarding who works with the Vicar & others as part of a team.
The Parish Safeguarding Team are:
Ben Thorndike (Vicar), Pam Calvert (Parish Safeguarding Officer), Wendy Carr (Associate Vicar), Alyson Bleakley (Senior Minister for Families) and Paul White (Lead Recruiter).
Contacting the Parish Safeguarding Team is confidential unless there is risk of harm to anyone.
